Thomas Pousont

Thomas Pousont is in his final year of the Master of Music in organ performance at McGill University, studying with Professor John Grew. He holds the position of Director of Music at the First Church of Deerfield, Massachusetts, and also teaches organ, piano, and voice at Deerfield Academy. He is the college organist of Presbyterian College, Montréal, and is a course lecturer at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a dual concentration in organ and vocal performance, studying organ with Grant Moss, Larry Schipull, and Patricia Snyder, and voice with Jon Humphrey and Paulina Stark. In 2005 he attended the McGill Summer organ academy, where he studied with John Grew and Marie-Claire Alain.

Active as an accompanist, choral director, and recitalist, he has performed in the United States, Canada, and Europe. During the summer of 2010, he attended both the Smarano International Organ Academy in Smarano, Italy and the Göteborg International Organ Academy in Göteborg, Sweden.
