A Message from the Artistic Directors

Welcome to the sixth annual ORGANIX festival! ORGANIX is unlike any other music festival you have been to. Each concert is a thrilling experience of the sights and sounds of a magnificent pipe organ, The King of Instruments. Those who have had previous ORGANIX experiences look forward to the month of May for the many unique solo and ensemble concerts the festival offers. We are proud to present the very finest of musical talent, whether it is from our faculty of music students becoming emerging artists or from the professional sphere of highly acclaimed national and international concert performers. Most of our concerts are free (a suggested donation is welcomed) and with the two Friday evening concerts with a general admittance price, we offer these free to those 18 years of age and younger!

Consider the Monday lunch-time series at Holy Trinity Church – Eaton Centre. This series offers music not normally heard in concert. This year we have programmed a variety of sounds from brass and organ, jazz organ, Mexican organ repertoire, and strings and organ. We have added two Thursday noon concerts at Metropolitan United Church, Canada’s largest pipe organ. Our big evening performances include a theatre organ concert at a castle, an internationally acclaimed organist from Germany at Holy Trinity and finally, one of Canada’s finest choirs and organist at St. Thomas Anglican Church. This festival has a Masterclass for organists and is open for all to watch and enjoy. The annual Doors Open Toronto event is a fabulous opportunity for enthusiasts, pianists and organists to bring some music and have a go at playing one of the finest tracker organs in Canada. Because of limited seating for what will likely be a capacity audience, order your tickets early for our two Friday evening General Admission concerts.
