Michael Barth
After initially pursuing an education in the sciences and acquiring a B.Sc. in physiology from the University of Saskatchewan, Michael decided to pursue a musical career and began his trumpet studies at the University of Victoria. Following his time in Victoria he completed a Master’s degree in trumpet performance at the University of Toronto under the instruction of Barton Woomert. He has furthered his musical studies by attending various summer music festivals, including Domaine Forget, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. Michael has been a member of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, with which he performed as a soloist, and is currently working as a freelance trumpet performer and teacher in the Toronto area.
