Roman Perucki - Organ

Prof. Roman Perucki (Gdansk, Poland) graduated in 1985 from the Gdansk Music Academy and the organ class of Prof. Leon Bator where he himself started teaching there that same year and is now the professor of the organ class. Additionally, he teaches music in secondary schools and provides masterclasses in Poland, Portugal, Mexico, Croatia, Russia and France.

Prof. Perucki is the titular organist at the Oliwa Cathedral in Gdansk. He is also managing director of the Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra (http://www.filharmonia.gda.pl/) and the President of the “Musica Sacra” Society and the Society of Friends of the Oliwa Cathedral having contributed his unique knowledge and skills to the design and build of the new Cathedral organ. 

Professor Roman Perucki is the manager of the longest running organ festival in Poland, the International Organ Music Festival of the Oliwa Cathedral and the International J.P. Sweelinck Competition in GdaÅ„sk, as well as other international organ-music series (in GdaÅ„sk, Frombork, Jastarnia, Stegna, Rumia, JastrzÄ™bia Góra and Å»arnowiec). He is a member of the jury of the many organ competitions in Poland and abroad (France, Russia). 

To date, Prof. Perucki has performed more than 2000 organ concerts: solo recitals, concerts with accompaniment of chamber and symphonic orchestras, soloists and duo-concerts, many of which have been in collaboration with his wife Maria Perucka (violinist) and has performed throughout Europe, Russia, Japan, China, Mexico, USA and Australia. He has performed in major performance venues, including Notre Dame in Paris and in the Gent’s cathedral, Mariinski Theater in St. Petersburg. 

He has  recorded a many CD’s and has been heard on national radio and appeared on television. He has been awarded the Culture Prize from Ministry of Culture, many prizes  from the authorities of the Town of GdaÅ„sk and the highest Vatican’s distinction “Pro Ecclesiae et pontifice”, and Order of St. Sylvestre.

Maria Perucka – violin

Maria Perucka graduated from Music Academy in GdaÅ„sk and the violin class having studied with Prof. Henryk Keszkowski. She participated in master courses, performed in a violin section of a string quartet in concerts and multiple courses of chamber music (winner of 3rd prize – Å�ódź 1986). As a soloist, Maria Perucka performed with the Kalisz Symphonic Orchestra, she was also a concertmaster in a band of old music called the Cappella Gedanensis and continues to perform with the violin quartet “4PM”. She performs in various churches and concert halls in Polish cities, including Warsaw, Krakow, Szczecin, Lublin, GdaÅ„sk and cities in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Sweden and Norway, with other soloist and organists. She recorded many CD’s, including with trumpeter Janusz Szadowiak, soprano Danuta Mossakowska – Dulska and Roman Perucki, organist. She recorded also for radio and television. Additionally, she is a teacher in a Music School of 2nd degree in Gdynia. She and her students took part in a violin course organized by Maestro Maxim Vengerov (October, 2009) and Maestro Siergiej Stadler (June, 2010).
