Nicholas Wanstall

Nicholas Wanstall is a first-year student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance and studying with John Tuttle. Nicholasbegan studying music at the age of four taking piano lessons with his grandmother who remained his primary teacher until recently. At the age of 13 he attended St. Michael’s Choir School where he developed a passion for choral music. At the Choir School Nicholas studied organ with Peter Daly and continued his piano studies with various teachers. In the summer of 2017 he obtained his A.R.C.T. in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Over the past few years Nicholas has also developed a passion for composition which he is also studying at the University of Toronto.

Nicholas has received recognition from several musical competitions for piano performance and composition, as well as being a two-time recipient of the Royal Conservatory of Music Gold Medal for achieving the highest mark in Ontario for an organ examination. He currently serves as the Sunday organist at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Toronto where he also co-directs and accompanies the Parish Children’s Choir.
